I know this is the wrong season, but because the snow conditions have been so spring-like here in Oregon, I thought I'd post an image captured last May in the Gorge. I woke up to clear skies, and just as the sun began to warm the sky, clouds developed right over the very area I was standing. In the original, Mt. Hood is just visible to the right of the tree.

This is a single shot, double processed for highlights and shadows.

Thank you for all comments and suggestions!

The sky couldn't possibly be more complimentary here Cory. Fantastic work all around. This has to be my favorite image of yours I have seen. It must be spring-in-january day here on NPN.

Beautiful image Cory. I really like the flow to this. Seems to be a touch of halo on the right side of the tree and sky. Thanks for pointing out Hood, a cool detail to find.

No such thing as a wrong season, Cory. This is freakin' gorgeous. Love the vibrancy of each color but they're still very realistic. Killer sky that gives this lots of depth. I love it!

Amazing color! You couldn't have better clouds if you picked them up and put them there. Awesome scene! My only nit is that the tree looks a little unnatural. I'm not sure if I put my finger on it...maybe I would expect to see more shade under/within a tree like that. Might be worth playing with the shadows in that area.

Good golly this pic shines!!

The flow of the hills, the colorful flowers, the great sky… this is a strong comp.

The colors seem a bit over done on my monitor.

Gorgeous flowers and great lines in both the clouds and the land contours. Maybe a tad oversaturated for my taste but that's really reaching to find any suggestions.

Awesome, Cory! I like the sky and the positioning of the tree in the
composition, plus the layering of the meadow with the stream winding
through it. You very wisely included a very strong FG element with
the Lupine and Balsamroot. My only concern is that unless my
monitor is not correctly calibrated, the saturation seems to be a little
heavy. Nevertheless, this is a knock out image and would make a
beautiful calendar image or print. Keep up the good work.

Personally, I think you've gone a bit overboard with the saturation. Particularly in the greens; they seem much too cyan. All of the other elements are incredibly good, and should be able to hold this image up on its own without the photoshop induced juiced-up colors. Composition, detail, and exposure are all spot on. Just dial the greens back, and you're good to go.

I love those greens. One little nit for me is the tree which stands out a bit too much against its surroundings.

Extremely beautiful shot. I see some others have commented on the greens in the original, but they didn't bother me much. Both posts look excellent to me. Very well done all around.

Incidentally, I saw your updated post of the Yosemite shot from a few days ago and thought it looked excellent.

Very nice comp. IMO the repost is much better as the saturation was too strong for my taste. Really nice work. If there was a way to make Mt Hood a little more noticeable I'd go for it.

All I can say about this is I wish I had one of these in my portfolio. It looks great, but I think would be equally as impressive with a little less punch in the flowers.
