A very popular technique this year and I've liked just about all of them I've seen. This captures the stark beauty and cold of winter very effectively.

Processing looks perfect to me, and I like the composition. Your title really says it all.

very elegant. i wonder if it doesn't need a slight CW rotation?

It looks great as it is. I'm wondering how it would look with the camera tilted down more toward the field where I see some interesting patterns.

Very nice comp and the high key scheme works great for this, well done.

I like winter shots, i like panos, I like simple and delicate images, I like personal and intimist views, I like people going out at -40C instead of going to the pub,...so, you draw your own conclusion :)

I like this as high key. I was disappointed with the larger photo, though—same size as the smaller one. Sounds like something I would do!

I do like the starkness conveyed here and the larger version helps me to get into the scene even more. Great capture Samantha

The high key effect just adds to the feeling of deep cold. Very well done.

Thanks for the comments, everyone. Get with the times, eh?

Can't repost the larger version, and my website only allows a certain size image in it's image container, but if you want to look at the softer version on my website click here.

I love the comp, but I guess I'm a lone dissenter too...I think the high key effect loses something because the contrast is too high...I liked the softer version on your web site better, but this is still very nice

I love this series, Samantha. These would make great wall hangers.

Just looked at the one on your Web site, and I agree with Tony. This does belong on a wall, big. I can relate to those gray winter skies. Really nice comp, and the mowing lines in the field add an extra macro-textural dimension.

Good stuff, Samantha.

I really don't understand why everybody was complaining about the weather in December. Sure, it was cold, but scenes like this that are so much more attractive than the brown, melting mush that we have now.

While I enjoy the fact that I never have to shovel my way out of my driveway. I also never get to shoot images like this! I love the stark, and harsh feel to it a lot. I see a 1to3 pano working with this very well. It does turn it into more of a 50/50 comp, but I don't think you need as much sky for it to be just as effective.

I'd love to see it way bigger. I think the empty sky presentation really works.

I like the starkness, simplicity and high contrast. The pano crop also seems to suit this perfectly. Best of all, I like the fact that looking at this photo, really relaxes me.
