Another from my day at the Sonoma Coast. I thought about a conversion, but actually like the little bit of color there is here.
I hope you enjoy it, and thank you for your thoughts. I have included a larger version as well.

18-70mm,
1.3sec, F/13,

Thanks,
Chris

I think that keeping this in colour was a good decision, as I expect that a black and white version would appear rather flat. That said, the fog has a magenta tint that I'd recommend you eliminate. Aside from that small nit, I very much like this.

Nice composition; good decision to keep the color. I'm not entirely sure I see the magenta cast that Kenn refers to . . . perhaps in a few of the areas where the fog meets the rocks/water in the background.

I'm liking this series a lot Chris, definitely like the color version and thanks for posting a larger view. Love the atmosphere of this, very rugged and mysterious. Nice work.

sweet mood you got here, chris. I like the natural look of this a lot, honestly. the fog does it for me, works perfectly adding quite a dreamy feeling to this seascape, I´ve never found these atmospheres near shore. no nits at all, great comp.

I think the color works great here. It presents a whole world of details and mood to explore if viewed large.

That's marvellous, Chris. The misty layers, especially on the right side are simpley fantastic. I like it very much.
Gratulations.

You've done really well with the conditions, Chris. The layers here are awesome. The fog is really what makes this image work. I also would be tempted to try converting this to B&W but it definitely works in color. Great image!

I have been keeping my eye out for a time to head out to the Sonoma Coast. If you want to try again another day with a buddy, shoot me an email :wavey:

Definitely looks like the Sonoma coast on any given day. Nice layering and use of what our foggy coast gave you. Is this from Furlong? If anyone wants to come up to Sonoma let me know as it is my backyard.

Hi Chris,

Your composition is excellent and so is the processing. The textures in the fg rock and sand look great. Image looks tack sharp on my monitor. I can kind of see what Kenn is referring to about the magenta color cast in the fog - it is very slight though. Great work. I hope this helps. Michael

Chris, I like how you lined up the rock structures in a diagonal line, and then how the fog gets thicker toward the background rock monolith. The sand against the hard rock texture is also pleasing to the eye. Nice job.

Very good!! You are really making the best out of these weather conditions and this tiny beach! Not sure if people realize that you have about 100yards of beach to work with here. Nice job dude. :toast: :toast: :toast:

This is a stronger comp than your last post, I think. Really like the layers and textures. There is a slight magenta in upc (probably coming from the sun) that could be eliminated. Really nice.

Excellent mood in this one. I also am glad you left it as a color shot. I agree about the magenta in the fog, at least on my monito.
