Captured on a trip to London, England last week. Likely domesticated as it was outside a pond near Buckingham Palace (St. James Park). In any case its a new bird for me and a very beautiful one at that.

Canon Rebel XTi EFS 55-250 f4.5-5.6 IS
ISO 200 1/125 f/8

Thanks in advance for the helpful suggestions and advice

Likely a domesticated bird or an escapee as this is quite outside it's normal range in Eastern Europe. The sharpness looks good here, the whites near the rump look like they may be blown out, it's certainly a tough exposure in bright sun with the whites and the darks on this bird. :toast:

There is one of these that hangs out at the Albuquerque Zoo. A gorgeous bird that really finds its way around the world. I like the pose of this difficult to expose bird.

A beautiful bird indeed! Awfully hard exposure to nail, with sunlight and those blacks and whites. As mentioned, think you did quite well, except for a bit of a hot spot near the rump.
