Great shot Chris! Was this taken during our CANP outing? I love the many layers in this image along with the transition from Fall to Winter. Excellent image. :toast:

A classic sierra scene, captured in great light. I love the composition, and the exposure looks good throughout. My only nit would be some noticeable blending along the tops of the darkened ridges. Did you blend two exposures? A little evening out there, and this will rock.

Chris, this is a very pleasant shot and it appears that I am standing right where you have placed your tripod...to nit-pick, i might bring out the mid-ground mountains a bit, they seem a bit dark with the overall image...the pov is excellent!

Really like the lighting on the distant peak and the contrasts from foreground to background. It almost seems like two separate images but it works really well... I like this a lot!

Beautiful Chris! A very enjoyable view! The layered composition is well done. I see some minor technical flaws from the PS work on the mountains. Only really noticable in the larger version.
Good stuff!

very very good chris. the composition is strong and the layers working well. the colours, too, enhance the composition, going from warms to colds and framed by the clouds. i like it!

Chris,

So this is what you were after all that time... I remember you describing several times this scene that you have captured - so kudos for you for envisioning this scene and crafting the final image - this is wonderful.

Not really a nit, but a suggestion... I would consider a little dodging/contrast adjustment in the midground ridge and mountains to bring out a little of the luminosity that is present in the foreground brush. I also might take out a tiny bit of the blue that is present in the darker front of the mountain ridges.

Otherwise, this is a beautiful capture and representation of the entrance to the June Lake Loop.

I'm really liking the glow of the vegetation in the fg and how there's almost a spotlight on the snowy peak in the bg - very nice!

This has all the elements. The beautiful color and texture in the foreground, trees in the middle ground, and the far foothills and mountains beyond and with a nice mixture of clouds thrown in. Very well done.

This is a beautifully layered composition, Chris. The color and detail in the fg is awesome and what a great sky. I agree about maybe a slight increase in brightness on the middle ridge.

As you say a wonderful capture showcasing not only the transition zones, but of the seasons too. Love the color contrasts between the blues and golds. I might favor some slight dodging to the vegetation in the middle ground (particularly on the left side). I think that would give the eye more to survey before continuing back to that wonderful snow-covered peak. Nice work!

This is really nice with some great layers, color and pleasing elements throughout the comp. I'm not a huge fan of the blue cast in the first row of peaks but that's a minor minor nit. Another quality image, keep up the good work!

I really like the warm earth tones in the foreground that contrast nicely with the cooler tones of the mountians. The detail throughout is awesome.

Beautiful image Chris. You seem to have conveyed a real sense of the emptiness in this landscape, yet not in a hostile way. The composition is really nice simple, and I like the subtle, non directional light. I find my eyes wandering from the interesting foreground into the small wood and then onto distant mountains, and then back through it all again. A very delicate capture.
