Peneda-Gerês National Park
Portugal

I´ve posted before a rendition of this waterfall, located deep in the heart of Gerês mountains range. This time, a closer view with the strong flow revealing the true forms beteween water and granite. It wasn´t easy to capture the scene, too much spray, wind and light changing were making it a bit difficult. But for about 2 hours... the waterfall was the subject in focus

Would like to know your opinions about it. Thanks all.

Tripod, cable release, Cir. pol.
1 shot: 1,5s 24mm f/13 ISO200

I think this is really nice Helio. Love all the detail in the rocks and exposure on the water.

I really like the sculpted rock faces on left side and its orange color near bottom. The sheer mass works so well to contrast w/the light water streams...

This is just gorgeous Helio. The shutter speed is spot on and the ribbon effect it created is just breathtaking to look at. I hope others don't pass this by as another waterfall shot, as I think its one of the best I've seen.
There's something sensuous or tempting about this comp that keeps me wanting to stare.
Cheers :toast: to a beautiful shot

Really beautiful!
I wish the top were not cut off, though -= it's a wonderful fall, and I'd love to see the whole thing, with a bit of room on the top.

Excellent lines in the falling water. The light and color is special as well.

I like this! The dark shadows and nice highlights work very nicely. For a more intimate comp I could see a more off the top to focus on the light and shadow play a bit more.

Wonderfully graphic, Hélio The textures in here are just great. A scroll crop of the top to eliminate where the water pours over the rocks seems to strengthen the comp.

Nice subject and perfect shutter speed, Helio. I also like the hard contrast look of the shot. Maybe the top is just a hint too bright and so the eye gets pulled towards the border a little too easy.

Helio, this is a very beautiful waterfall image. The speed you used was just perfect and the colors in the rocks and water are very nice. I would agree with some others that cropping some off the top would make this a better image as the top is already cut off a bit and on the bright side.

Really nice effect of the water. The cut at the top is a minor nit.

thanks for feedback so far, interesting the opinions about the top, I remember when I was studying the comp. I noticed carefully how I would frame the top, and not sure why, but I it felt better on the spot to cut a bit as is. On the limit of brightness there
Thanks for the words Vincent, totally agree

Beautiful work. I recall you other shot from this location and I think I prefer this one. The other had an intriguing composition (with some foreground rocks, as I recall), but this is more effective for me.

The contrast between the sensuous water lines and ridge rock face is wonderful. I love the fact that you focused on the intimacy of this waterfall rather than the surroundings. Good stuff!

I love the ribbon of water and the way you've exposed the rocks. My eye is wanting more at the top, but that's a small matter. This is wonderful!

Excellent work Helio. The detail, light and color is very good. The only improvement might be to place the top of the waterfall lower in the frame. Is there sky above that you did not want to include? Overall I like it very much. Lokking forward to seeing more of your work.

Other than a slight crop to the top as already suggested to make a stronger comp, I really like this. The shutter speed is perfect, the play of light on the rocks is gorgeous, and the color of the water is gorgeous and adds a lot of punch to the scene. Great work!
