Love this one Charles. It's the dof decision that I particularly like here. Lots of interesting things in this for me.

Charles: Ditto what Pat said. Like some creature emerging from the depths. Most excellent shot. >=))>

I agree with the others on this Charles about the great DOF. There's somthing very extraterrestrial about this image.
Also, I enjoy reading your explanatons on your photos and the added element of curiosity and imagination that your captureing. :toast:

I have mixed feelings about this one, Charles. I'll try to explain and may end up describing my personal preferences rather than a critique, but I'll let you decide…. For me, I like the image better if cropped to square, with a little off both bottom and top, or a tighter rectangle with some off the right as well. It's still mysterious but offers my eye a place to find where the stem might anchor, not that I can necessarily see it. Just that I am less distracted by the lighter oof area in the lower right and the horizontal green at the top and the abyss of darkness in the left lower 1/4. So, now I've probably nitted everything everyone else likes about your image. Go figure…

I usually see it as a dancing female form whose bottom half is lost in the shadow and blur of movement. I have different interpretations. Different ways of looking at the colors, shapes and forms so that they hold together in a kind of narrative. It could be a small dog. Or one that's been dead awhile. The light spot in the lower right is balanced by the dark spot in the upper left. The green at the top (a lawn? a narrow fairway?) is balanced by the emptiness in the lower left. You know what this reminds me of? The gopher in the movie Caddy Shack doin' that little dance at the end. In some of the female form interpretations that spot in the lower right is a bare knee. That's what I figure, anyway.
