Sprigs of Hope

Sony A700
Minolta 200mm macro, 36mm XT
ISO 200, 1/2 sec @ f22

Saw these cheery little sprigs on one of our young maple trees this morning. You know you're spoiled by the sunbelt when you start whining about spring being late when its only the first week of February. At least there is one hopeful sign that winter is waning. All comments welcome. >=))>

Amen! Glad you got out and found this. From your comment on Morris' shot of the CO wildflowers, I began to worry about you. This looks so fine. Whew, now you can go back to giving thumbs up instead of tossing yellow flags around. Love it-- being a flower nut with all the rest of you nuts. :jump:

Yeah, judging by your comment on my post, I'd say you have the Super Bowl on your mind. Only you could take something as small and fairly unnoticeable and make it as grand as this! What a statement with this shot. There is unmeasurable beauty in the smallest element and you sure illustrated that here.

Hi Bill. Great photo of the maple blossom. I was shooting these also, right after I got a new Macro lense spring of 2008. Of course mine did not come out near as well as this. I noted your shooting specs and will try to achieve somthing this nice in the spring. Unfortunately for me that's still three months away. :frown: Again great job, I always enjoy seeing your work.

Good gracious Bill, you are pushing the season. You should be here in Virginia as I'm expecting around 2 feet of snow. Seriously though, great shot. Color, comp, DOF all spot on with a super BG.

Yeah Bill, as I just pointed out to Matthew, we will not have signs like this for a couple of months still I think.

I like the BG and I like your comp. Very nicely done.

Very well seen and taken Bill. The POF/DOF is right on in my opinion. Come On Spring! :jump:

Thanks for making me feel warmer Bill. This sight is a breath of hope. In this moment I see through my window the snow coming down. I like very much the color of the background, a mix of warm and cold tonalities, as early spring is.
Cheers.
