I spent a few days photographing the Valley of Fire. This one, shot with my Nikon D200 and 12-24 Nikkor@12mm is one of the best ones I got of the red rocks and texture. Thanks for looking.

It is amazing how the low angle sun lights up the red rock, it is always a pleasure to look at. I really like the leading lines from the LLC, very nice composition.

I like your composition here Rodney. The lighting on the formation also helps to bring out the color and texture.

Very nice Rodney. The lines and details on the FG rock are interesting. Great light for the subject. I'm wondering about the the slope of the horizon though.

VOF is a fun place. The warm light and clouds are a good combo.

Thanks for the comments. Russell, you have me wondering too! It's been a couple years since I was there, I'm usually very careful about horizons, so I am thinking maybe that is the valley in the background sloping downward, but it's possible it is crooked.

The light of the setting sun helps to bring out the red color well. I love how you composed this image with the leading lines.

Beautiful light on the canyon wall, and the clouds up top compliment this scene beautifully. Very nice leading lines as well with the canyon wall. A Well captured image.
