While hiking in the soggy Redwood forest in a local state park, I found this nice grouping of trees.
Thanks for any input.

Awesome shot! Very artistic and reminds me of a Monet painting.

Nice lines and muted colors. I agree with Tom, it is very representative of an impressionist painting. I like it.

Compression seems to be hurting this a bit, but that's unavoidable. This is very appealing to me, particularly with the range of colors from front to back. Reminds me of some of Guy Tal's work.

Striking image, Ben. Very hard to do in these conditions and usually under-appreciated IMO. Nothing here distracts in the slightest except perhaps the lack of resolution.

Wonderful comp, with the graceful curves emanating from the radiating lines of the trunks. I like the bands of colors, and the textures must be wonderful, even though they are difficult to appreciate at this size.

Bet this was hard to compress, as it looks like it suffered some. I like the color contrasts and the comp works pretty well for me. I might try lightening the rear dark trunk in the center, so it doesn't carry as much weight.

Very artistic shot Ben, love the mix of colors and great comp. Looks soft, but probably from the compression here. Nice work.

Very nice, Benjamin. As presented, it almost feels Monet-like

Ben, The compression people are mentioning could just be the way it is when shooting in the rain or lots of moving atmosphere? I don't know if that is the case the here, but I've shot in the rain before so that 's why I'm mentioning it. Anyway, all the color and lichen covered trees are working for me.

Benjamin,
I need to see this image big and printed out on a wall to truly appreciate the beauty you have seen and captured. The comp and colors come together to make this image a special capture.
Awesome work!!!

You put it all together in this shot. Comp, light, color, texture. Indeed, a very impressionistic feel. This should probably only be viewed on a wall as a huge print.

I realy like everything you have in the frame here. The tapestry like colors, and the painterly look to it. I was going to mention the compression, but I think it's adding to the look here. Very nice.

This is beautiful Ben. The lines and curves of the trees against the autumn foliage are superb in your exquisitely composed image. Really like the fact that no sky is poking through. Gorgeous.

Great balance and range of colors. The sharpness or sharpening looks a little strange.

Thanks for the comments everyone.. regarding the sharpening, this scene is just incredibly detailed, and virtually impossible to post a 'sharpened' image under the size constraints on npn. I couldn't even sharpen a 100% crop to show you the details without saving it at jpg 1. The detail is all there though.

Very nice! I love the way those trees break up the colors captured across this scene. I might prefer a slight crop off the left side (just inside that tree), but this more than works as presented to. Well seen and captured!
