F*** It

Out by the Great Salt Lake there's a rock that I think is fairly interesting. Unfortunately, others are attracted to it for different reasons.

I took about 5 shots of this, but didn't like the results Photoshop produced. So I manually blended two images together.

See the available larger version.

Canon 5D2
Canon 24-105mm
f/22
This lens at f/22 makes some great starbursts.

This is a subtle shot Ron, with lots of elements working together to help dramatize your shot without pushing it too far out. I like the fact that the graffiti is hard to read, and you kind of have to study it if you really need to know what it says. Frankly, if the words were too overt, it would detract and limit the uses of the photo. Even now, a little tasteful blurring might be required for some applications.

I also like that you have included the small human figures in the background, both for scale and to tie in with the graffiti. In between them and the graffiti you have "bracketed" lots of good things photographically ranging from the sky to the sun burst.

All in all, it really keeps my eye moving around in a good way, while making your point without hammering your audience and their sensibilities.

Like I said, very subtle, but also very nicely done.

Interesting shot that shows how stupid some humans are by destroying nature's handiwork. I like the inclusion of the people to show some scale. Congrats on the EP!
