Super capture! I love the warm light, the active pose, the water splashes, and the light on the face and eyes. The only nit I can find (and it is an easy, minor fix) is to level the image so that points in that reflection are exactly vertical to the same points on the hyena! Thanks for sharing!

This is awesome! Great light and reflection here and the fact that the Hyena is in water makes this very interesting. You night consider cloning out the small spots visible in the BG of the water. Nice work!

Super reflection, great light and beautiful action. I'd do a slight CW rotation to straighten this out though

Wow, very nice. Only comment (at risk of invoking the wrath of Brad) is that I'd be tempted to clone out a the out of focus water droplets/reflections in the upper left and above/behind the rear of the hyena which to my eye mar the clean gray background. Otherwise perfect. And I don't mind at all that it's at a slight angle.

Wow, what a cool shot--the splash and reflection are perfect! I like the slightly skewed angle here--it works with the ation here as opposed to a static shot where you might prefer it level. My only (minor) nit is the brightest highlites on the hyena--especially the yellow patch on his neck--i'd try to burn that a bit or reduce the high end with a curves adjustment. Super catch-

Beautiful subject and light!Nice detail and comp.
You might want to level it a bit, and not sure what the white spots are on thre upper right and upper left..?

Hi Andrea,
I want to echo the accolades already made on this image - well done. Very clean, very nice. To my eye this hyena is moving slightly towards you, which automatically means that certain aspects of the image (like the "wake" line of the water) will appear to be slightly off-level. I personally wouldn't level this image if it were mine. My only "tiny" nit on this image is the horizontal placement of the subject - to my eye the image would be a little more appealing if there was SLIGHTLY more room on the left side of the image (and the hyena just slightly more off-centre). But I really am talking only tens of pixels, nothing major at all...
Cheers...thanks for sharing this well-timed and well-executed capture...

This is truly gorgeous with that mirror-like reflection, the golden light, and the splashing water. Wow. Wow. Wow. Would love to capture an animal this well.

iconic. great light and reflection. the spots in the BG do distract a little and I'd agree with burning the bright yellos on the neck ... well done!

Many thanks to everybody for really interesting comments and suggestions, particularly about PP. Probably I will level the image for the horizontal placement of the subject, interesting is also observation about the the bright yellows on the neck, I'm not sure of eliminating the small spots visible in the BG of the water, (I dont remember exactly what they were probably the feathers of flamingos)
