Iceland is a fantastic place...if you haven't gone...then go...it doesn't disappoint. It mostly rained while we were there. Upon asking a member of hotel staff about the weather that day...he replied 'its a good day today - just rain!' The shot was taken in September (the wetest september on record!) and is a doubled processed image - one for the fanastic light in the sky and the other for the foreground. I have cropped about 20% from the bottom of the image as there was a lake in the foreground which I felt detracted the eye from the overall composition.

This is a cool shot and very interesting to look at. What a sky. Think I would consider heading for that church. I like how the one cloud seems to be hanging right over the church and how the light is coming down around it.

What a dramatic sky and light !
The building (church ?) stands out well amidst the darkness. Nice processing too.

A beautiful image Ian. I've seen this church and I've wanted to photograph it, but the light was never good, so I passed. I like the drama you got to work with here, and you've captured it and the church wonderfully.

Stunning! Agree with all below. I would like to see how it looked with the church a little lighter to make it stand out more....but maybe not, at the moment my eyes go to the sky first and then 'discover' the church, would not want to spoil that, but it might look good if it appeared that some of that special light was specially lighting up the church.
