I guess we all try to do an attempt at channeling Mr. Adams at one time or another. When I posted this on RMNP last fall, someone commented it reminded them of his shot of the aspen, and when I recently converted it to B&W, I thought this is just about as close as I can get to mimicking the master.

Comments and critiques always welcome, and thanks for looking,

Morris

I think it worked and Adams lives here in some or way, congrats on a fine capture Morris!

Simple and moody Morris, very nicely done. I wonder how it would look with just a hair of detail still in the deepest of blacks?

This is pretty darn sweet, Morris. I love the high contrast and how luminous that little aspen is. Great work.

It certainly has the Adam's feel to it Morris. I like the bw treatment, I do wish the shadows weren't quite as dark though.
Nice capture.

A very worthy tribute, beautifully presented. As close as it is to Adams it is still a bold creative statement in this age. Kudos for experimenting beyond the obvious!

This definitely struck me as Ansel the moment i saw the thumbnail Morris, love the post processing you have done in B&W and this is indeed very reminiscent of the famous shot of his.

nice work morris. man, when the image opened it looked to me as a nightshot. I like how you emphazised and isolated the main subject. b&w work better for me like this. nice work and I´m sure AA would like this one.

That is some definite contrast...I like it! Those leaves just glow against the very dark background, nicely done!

I knew when I read the title who you were referring to. I see many similarities. Beautiful lighting in this shot and great conversion to black and white. :toast:

Very lovely with its quiet elegance. The aspen shot by Adams is my fave, so this resonates with me.
