Here for your consideration are two young flowers. Siblings, perhaps. Occupants of an imaginary convertible heading toward the sunset.

Rough-fruited cinquefoil

Hi Charles. I really like the diagonal placement of the pair of flowers. Nice DOF/POF choice also, with the FG flower being sharp and its BG echo OOF. The critter of course adds additional interest.

Charles, a VERY appealing image!
Perfect DOF, love the presentation and the bug is a great bonus!

I like your DOF choice here. The bug is definitely a bonus. My only suggestion would be to crop this more in a square format to eliminate some empty space on both sides.

Thanks for commenting, Angela. And I'm tempted to crop a smidge from the sides. Your suggestion would work. On the other hand the square format you suggest would completely change the image. It would make this an image of two flowers, rather than an image of a landscape with two flowers in it. The relationship between the viewer and the subjects would become more intimate. And the world you'd share would be ours instead of theirs. I hope I'm not being too confusing.

Charles: Cool comp and I like the party crasher. I like your interpretation of this being a landscape with two flowers. Well done.>=))>

Excellent composition Charles. IMO I'd prefer to allow more space at the bottom, rather than sides cropping. Nicely done. :toast:

The insect and the flower match so beautifully that I would love to see the image enlarged in a closer frame. I like the photo, Charles.
Cheers.
