Hi all. I hadn't intended on doing a minimalist series, but that seems to be where I am right now. This one lone yucca leaf was all that held out against the snow. All comments/suggestions much appreciated.

Sony A300, Sony 70-300 G, 1/80 @ f8, 100, Ev. +1, tripod, late evening light.

This is unusual and interesting. The detail in the snow is really good and my eye is drawn to the hole where the leaf emerges. IMO the evening light is causing a little too much blue cast to the snow. Easily fixable though.

At least in your last one, this guy had some company. Now he truly is all alone. Nicely done. :toast:

I think I like the single spike better. Very zenlike.

I'm enjoying this series, Philip. The images are certainly evocative of cold and lonely survival mode that is the essence of severe winter weather. Good work. I like that you left the blue color cast in there. Brrrr.

I almost passed this by. This fairly new guy was busy being blown away by the colors. It is amazing --the premitive mind.
It would have been my loss.
I agree about the blue cast. Thanks for posting this!!

I liked the last one Phillip but i think I prefer this one. There's a lot of interest in the fg detail here and I still like the fade to the infinite in the bg. A striking image in many respects.

Philip: I give this one the nod over the prior but both are excellent IMO. I like the blue cast in this for some reason. Normally I'm not a fan of blue snow but in this rendition it really accentuates the cold environment of the shot. 2 thumbs up! >=))>

I like this one better than the last post but I would try to fix the blue cast. Common problem when shooting snow in shadows or low light.
