Shores of Loch Awe

...well nearby, anyway. I saw this little scene by Loch Awe in Argyll just after packing up for the day. The sun was on the cusp of breaking through the cloud for the first time that day and, after another 10 mins or so, it did!

The longer one looks at this photo the more it is appreciated.
A close-up study which brings forms, texture, color and composition together.
I especially like the bark on the tree contrasting with the grass both in texture and color.
Most would walk by this scene but the photographer saw and captured.
Way to go Julian.

I've been studying at this for some time now, trying to figure out why I like it so much. For whatever reason it just all seems to work well together, and I love the golden color in the grass. I think it's a combination of many small things that makes this so appealing instead just one large element such as a sunset, etc. Well done Julian.

I agree with Larry and Bill from the thumbnail it looks "bah" but on the larger view and with some inspection it's really a wonderful image. I'm not sure why but my guess is that the image has depth and the golden tones are very nice.
Really nice piece of work Julian.

Very nice light Julian. The warm colors add a lot of appeal here. The comp. is also well structured.

Julian

Lovely shot, from the wild browny yellow grasses to the tree in the top right. Very Nice.

This is an amazing image to me. I agree with all that has been said. One can just keep looking at this. I think this composition is wonderful and so is the light and color. What great textures too. Looking at the large view is very impressive.
