This is a super composition Sandy. The lean of select trees, especially the most prominent one, gives an almost lyrical feel of "movement" to it. I've passed through there twice in the snow, and it never occurred to me that the trees would make such a great subject. Call it distraction by wolves and bears, but I'm obviously guilty of gross oversight!

Congrats to you too Sandy on your EP selection. This image remids me of an area in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan called the Kingston Plains, which had experienced a massive firestorm decades ago, and the landscape is covered with the charred remains of tree trunks. I like the background which looks like it survived the fire, life after the aftermath.

Sandy,
The thumbnail, really makes me want to look. I guess that's an important assest in a journalistic photograph. When I do look closer, this shows both beauty and devastation. Excellent comp and exposure.
Congrats on the EP.

Beautiful, cold and stark! I love the touches of color. I was just in Yellowstone as saw similar scenes but clearly I didn't really see them.
Congratulations on the EP!

Stark looking and sad image of fire devastation expertly captured. I like the curving tree for the pathos: "This is just too much to bear…" Really good Sandy.
