Red fox

Hi guys,

Another one of this beautiful male fox. They are in perfect condition this winter. Lots of rabbits out there.

Edwin, I love this shot. Your dof is perfect and the detail is amazing. I do wish the tip of his nose was a little more in focus , but awesome as posted.

Lovely. Really like the bands of pastel blue and yellow in the background. The richer colors of the fox itself are very compatible with the background but also help emphasize the animal. Nice expression on the fox. Focus looks good to me as more DOF would hurt the background and I think the nose looks OK. The spec of dirt on his nose is slightly distracting. I'd probably clone it out but I suspect I'll be in the minority here. Nice! :toast:

i like the details, colors and DOF,i also like the snow on the nose.the two white spots in front of the fore paws, especially the left handed, disturb me a little, but it is just a matter of taste.

cheers,Luca

Very similar to the version you posted earlier, which I prefer. Still love the low viewpoint here though.

My God !!! This is any time one of the best of this species that I have seen. Love the light, the details, the look of the fox. Superb Edwin :toast: :toast:

Hi Edwin,

Another very unique and appealing shot - well done. I like the low point-of-view, the shallow depth-of-field, and the overall colour palette. The snow on the nose is a very nice touch (and I have no issue at all with the black spot on the nose. I find the blue tinge to the snow in the foreground interesting - I think it works well with the other colours, but wonder about its "naturalness"? Not a nit, just a thought. I'm also left wondering if brightening up the red portions of the face just a tad (no more than 1/3 of stop) would keep the effect you're going with but still make the image a little more visually interesting? But, without seeing it lighter this is little more than specuation. Overall - really like this shot and my biggest nit (non-nit?) is being deprived of the pleasure of seeing it in a larger form!

Cheers...thanks for sharing this...

Brad

Another excellent fox image Edwin. Very similar to your previous post of this fox, but not quite as superb IMO. What makes the difference for me is the very OOF snow at the bottom of its legs and the less intense facial expression. Still a great image. :toast:

I prefer this pose, but I lie the darker background of the other. A gorgeous animal and a well crafted image, would love to have been there.

The OOF snow gets me a little. Otherwise excellent especially with the even lighting. Did you take this from a hide?

Yes, another interesting image. My reason for choosing the other posting over this one comes down to minute details of expression. This one has an eerie mood which could lead to lots of interpretations. It is as if it would be perfect for the cover of a book or a movie poster!
