Convergence

As mentioned, here is the more abstract shot sans the mountains and sky from my trip to the Great Sand Dunes. I was really taken with the way the lines of the substratum converged.

Comments and critiques always welcome, and thanks for looking,

Morris

Excellent, Morris  . Don't normally comment here but this one is pretty abstract-ish so could not resist. Love the leading lines and the excellent patterns in the frame. :toast:

One of your best, Morris! A masterful composition with pleasing light and color.
The almost sensuous curves of the sand drifts complement the stone striations perfectly.
Foreground and left edge do have sharpening artifacts, but that's a minor (and fixable) nit in an otherwise beautiful work of art.

Yeah, that's it! Amazing combination of "stuff" in this. It's cool how the patterns of loose sand are opposed to the angles of the striations below.

A very unique presentation of dune photography. I like the textures,
lines, and abstract nature of this, plus the color also works well.

Now we're talking Morris! this is an incredible nature image and abstract. The flow of the lines and the repeating rounded patterns in the sand are wonderful. I think what may go un noticed that I'm really enjoying is the hint of blue in darker sandy depressions throughout. Just that touch of color contrast does so much for this wonderful scene.

This is fantastic Morris, absolutely fantastic. The lines and design, the textures and detail, the subtle warm tones are all phenomenal. Your composition seems to race the eye from fg to back in an arc of wonder. One awesome image that I hope you print big.

I wonder Morris if the rock underneath the recent sands are ancient prehistoric dunes, a fossilized Dune sea with the waves of a recent Dune sea washing over it. Just thought I'd offer a different take on the image, rather than complimenting the obvious depth of the image and the lovely sweeping lines. Congrats Morris it's a great image
