Spotted

Two spotted deer looking at a leopard camouflaged in dry leaves. The leopard had taken down a spotted deer fawn a while earlier and had just about finished with it when these two walked across.
Thanks for taking a look.

Truly an excellent image Chetan, love that camouflage! I think it's a great behavior shot that wonderfully portrays the predator/prey relationship between these two species.

Hi Chetan,

I'm totally with Guy on this one - great behavioural shot and a really nice depiction of the role of camouflage in the hunter/hunted relationship. Your title works well for me too - spotted deer with a spotted leopard, which, despite its camouflage, you've spotted!

Very interesting shot - thanks for sharing it with us...

This is a story image and I don't think anyone could look without examining it closely! Thanks for posting this one! I like the focus zone on the leopard and leaves and that the background deer are out of focus without losing all detail. I wish we could see a hint of why the leopard is ignoring the adult deer...A bit of bone, hide or blood would do that.

Very interesting image Chetan. My comments really mirror Lon's here (again) and my only wish is to see more of the prey to make this good behavioural image even stronger.

Neat image. I'm surprised the deer are still hanging around.

This is a very interesting shot. I'd say it has something documantary about it.It shows the camouflage of those animals.Love the comp and the focus on the leopard and the deer in the background out of focus. Great shot.

The content and story-telling aspect (predators and prey, camo etc.) of this shot is very interesting. I do find it to be pretty busy. There are a lot of competitors for my eye in this picture but that is just the nature of this shot. That is not meant to be a criticism but just an observation and I certainly would not have passed up this shot if I had been afforded the opportunity.
