Napping Nutreas

Pardon the harsh lighting but I had to take this shot this morning. A family of Nutreas decided they had worked enough and needed a nap.

Nutrias may be cute, but they are definitely a pest species.

Like you said, the light is a bit harsh, but not at all too bad. You made good use of the reflection. All in all a nice family image.

To Phil: I wouldn't be surprised if pest species also considered people as pests...

Hi Scott,

Hey - everyone deserves a break now and again! Cute shot and I think you handled the lighting quite well. My first thought is that the image is just a tad too bright overall - if it were mine I'd experiment with reducing the brightness a little globally, tho' perhaps the nutrias don't need as much of a brightness reduction as the rest of the scene?

Cheers...thanks for sharing this...

A fun family portrait, Scott. I agree with Brad that the nutrias would pop out more if the foreground water were a bit darker. Excellent detail. :toast:

What a fun capture. I like the reflection and the very natural feeling colors. The sticks are wild, but it is what you had. If you see nutreas often, I would like to see more!

A good family portrait. I like the twiggy-sticky setting as it gives a good feeling of the habitat in which they live. Phil, or anyone, I know nutrias are an exotic species but why are they considered pests?
