Triple team - for Lon

by Vincent Grafhorst

As has been announced already today in the NP Discussion forum Lon Sharp has joined the Fauna Gallery Moderator Team!

Most of us, and moreover the Fauna regulars, have know Lon as an excellent wildlife photographer and a prominent NPN member for quite a while. I have always regarded him as an exemplary member, both for his level of participation and his talent to provide constructive feedback so it is only more than logical that he joins the moderator team.

With three moderators in the Fauna Gallery the likelihood of at least one pair of eyes watching over the gallery has increased even more, which will benefit the quality of the gallery and therewith everyone posting and visiting.

Thanks again for joining Lon!

Cheers, :toast:

Congratulations Lon! I'm sure you'll make a valuable addition to the moderator team! :toast:

About the iamge: I liek the convergence of no less then three Rhino's here, and the fact they seem to be involved in a group hug  Only nit would be the horn of the rightmost rhino obscuring part of the eye of the middle Rhino, not much you could have done about that though! :toast:

I like this 'meeting of the horns'. White rhino are always a pleasure to view, great sighting. I like the detail and lighting on this one very much.

Congrats Lon! Really nice shot Vincent - I'd like to see just a bit more of the eye of the obscured rhino, but the light is superb!

Congratulations Lon, :toast: I'll continue to appreciate your sages comments and advices. Mauro.

As far as the image I like very much the relevant composition: the convergence of the three Rhinos and the light of the scene are really very good.

Thanks for the good wishes, all! If I am one of these three, as the newbie I would have to be the little guy! I will be relying on Vincent and Brad to guide me along in this role. Honestly, I feel a little inadequate, but my enthusiasm for what NPN has done for my photography makes me eager to help others discover how much we all learn from one another!

Cool image, Vincent. I like how the putting of their heads together creates lots of lines leading to a single focal point.

Hey Vincent,

So, if Lon is the "little guy", and Vincent is the hiding guy, I guess then I must be the guy on the right. Last time I looked in the mirror I didn't see so many wrinkles...

Congrats Lon - I'm looking forward to working with you and I think you'll be a great addition to the team!

Vincent - very appropriate image and beautiful light! Very nice as posted. Might also look good cropped a little tighter to draw even more emphasis on the 3 heads...

Cheers...

Brad

Haha, seems like a football huddle. Great light, and I like that you got at least partial eyes on all of them.

It is great that all the three moderators have agreed on their positions and POV's, so that contributors know who's watching from which angle !

The lighting and that all three have come together is what makes this image for me. I wonder what the serious meeting is all about? Great job on getting this, a pleasure to view.

Congratulations Lon.
