Harbor Seal III

I like the lines in this photo as a larger adult Harbor Seal relaxes on the rocks. It slid into the water shortly after this.

Cropped to 61%, some healing brush on seal to recover blown sunlight reflections, minor shadows/highlight adjustment and selective sharpening.

Nikon D300s 300 f4 + 1.7X TC HH
f/7.1
1/1600s
ISO 640

Luke I like this for the subtle head turn and the crooked smile!
...and the other rock adds a nice balance to the composition.

A very pleasing scene Luke; lovely light, cute subject, nice low POV and a pleasing comp. I am only wondering if the comp would be even more balanced if the entire right rock would be inside the frame. That is presuming it ends just outside the frame. Since this is a heavy crop you might have the entire rock and could experiment with a crop including this rock.

Vincent,

I agree with you about the rock - unforunately there was very little space cropped of that side and it was cropped because the photo unfortunately wasn't straight, so there isn't any more room. But I have a few very similar shots which include the whole rock

Like the low angle and the eye contact. Great light as well.

Nice shot of this guy. I like the light, the pose and the expression he is giving you. He sure is a plump guy!
