The recent spoonbill images that have been posted got me thinking about this species, so I decided to post one of my shots. If you take the time to really study them, they are very interesting and unique birds, both in looks and behavior. I like the lighting in this image as well as the detail and color. As always thanks for looking and please view the larger version as the details are much better.

Ron,
I really like the rose color against the blue of the water, the light, the detail captured in particular under the wing, the muddy droplets and the eye contact too.
The larger version is super!

Beautiful capture, Ron. The colors and detail are great. I particularly like how you avoided blowing the whites in this fairly bright light. :toast:

another spectacular shot, Ron. can't believe this is full-frame--that's just about perfect comp, and on a flight shot with no crop! impressive to say the least. super colors, sharpness, DOF. nice job on the whites, too. :toast:
