Goodbye Winter

Last morning ice on the Concord NH water supply. 60 degree days knocked out mid NH snow and ice early this year. I'll miss winter, but can't complain about hiking in shorts and a tee in mid March in New England.

Pretty capture Scott, and a nice comp. Still looks pretty darn cold to me, at least the water!

Hi Scott! I agree with Bill - nice comp and the water does look cold. Glad spring is here though. I like the forground rock and the curve in the ice reflects the basic shape of the rock, as though heat from the rock is causing the melt. Nicely done!

Great image, the rock in the FG is perfect.

Scott,

Great use of the near/far composition; the foreground rock extending in to the frame makes for a solid base to the scene. This also works well in showing the transition - the melting ice.

While not a fault in any way, the background to me is a little unexciting. The sky does have a nice touch of color and the image has depth, but nothing in the background to really hold my attention long. What I'm really liking though beside the rock, is also how you can just see a little bit beneath the surface just beyond that rock.

A nice image.
