Another shot from the West of Ireland. Some wonderfully dramatic light in east mayo as the light drifted in and out from behind some stormy clouds.

Well Hello thats really lovely. How did you manage to get the reflection to balance out so well with a 3 stop ND grad in place whenever I use anything that heavy the water reflection is way brighter than the sky. Whatever its a fabulous shot with real Scottish mood in Ireland.

Yowza...this is unusual and very awesome, Peter. Super mood about the image. Best I've seen on NPN in a while.

Very moody image, although I'd personally prefer the dark edges cropped out. Very unusual photograph, in a good way.

Lovely moody image.
Great dramatic feel and a narrow FOV that is quite encapsulating.

One of my favorites as of late.

Ian,

The FG reflection was slightly brighter on the trannie so Ive just dampened down the FG a little and brightened the sky a touch. The variance in exposure (3 stops) was as such that it meant they were not way out of kilter with the 3 hard stop grad. It was one of those situations where the light was constantly changing and I just waited for it to be really bright in the sky but with just the right amount of cloud cover to avoid white out in any area. It took a while and I got a wet 67 but hopefully it was worth it.

Great luminosity like this always evokes a response. A striking, dramatic, and moody shot.
