I know, another osprey, but I just can't help it. The drive for the ultimate osprey with fish image just keeps me going back out after these guys. Hey, at least this one has a Jack Crevalle and not a trout. I like the yellow and red the fish adds to the image. I also like the osprey's position with wings spread and tail fanned. Thanks for looking and putting up with repeats of the same species. Also, please view the larger image as the details are much better.

You must have one great spot to constantly get front on views of these guys coming back with fish. Another great one!

Wow, you are knocking these out of the park. We already have Ron D the Harrier-whisperer and now Ron B lord of the Osprey. Very cool !
The fish of course always adds interest, but that wing spread is just great.

Keep 'em coming Ron. I think the brightness could be lowered a little globally - or perhaps some selective adjustments on the fish

I have the same drive for the ultimate flyer with prey. The snowy with the frog on your site blows me away. This one is great as well. Great light and detail under the wings and the blood on the fish is a reality bonus. Your doing awesome getting these. I'm getting the fyers but not with prey so... I'll keep going as well. Thanks for the inspiration with shots like these :toast: :jump:

Thanks everyone. Luke, I agree to a certain extent about the brightness. I may try burning a few select areas on the fish. Thanks.

Ron,
another extraordinary Osprey flight shot. The two talons, that have not yet fully grasped the prey, give me the sense of the action. :toast:

Great wingspread and fanned tail, Ron, not to mention the jack. I think it could be maybe a 1/2 stop less on exposure (in fact the larger image looks that way. A fine flight shot and up to your usual high standards :toast:

Well it looks like baby jack is on the menu for this osprey!

Great shot! Bird position along with exposure are on the money!

They just arrived back on Long Island and I look forward to getting some action shots.

Great shot Ron, Great wingspread and detail. The fish is a real bonus. I really like how with this pose, you got good contrast around the beak. The beak really stands out. I sometimes have trouble with that. :toast: :toast:

Glad to see your 7D is working well Ron, mine has got focusing problems. Oh! what I would give to get an osprey image like this with his wings spread and fish in his talons - not with my 7D though. A really dramatic image. Graham

You have both bird and fish presented to the very best advantage for the viewer Ron - not an easy thing to do, for sure. IQ is superb and I really like the wing and tail extension. Overall exposure looks fine by me but you could bring the brightness of parts of the fish down - though I'm surprised that you didn't blow that belly out completely as that's what usually happens to me when I'm shooting grebes with fish. Simply excellent!

Wonderful image.

Excellent detail sharpness and the fish is not overexposed-which is easy to do with these osprey shots. Well done.
