misty forest

Well, it's been a while since I last posted a photo here. This photo was taken last autumn quite close by where I live. I like forests and Slovenia have plenty if it, but somehow I still don't feel comfortable photographing in forest, which is odd, since this subject is the most common around here. But perhaps is just too common to think about?

Cheers,
Marko

Wow Marko! I really like the ethereal surrealistic feel of the mist, and the crooked tree in the foreground just adds to this feeling. Nice work! Maybe you should try more forest shots!

Very moody and dreamlike Marko - you're right, shooting in a forest does seem more difficult than other venues, at last for me, but this is very nice. Good work.

Great comp. I like it - gives you the feeling of a dark and scary forbidden forest.

Beautiful Marko. Tremendous mood with a mystical quality. A wonderful image. If this is an indicator of being uncomfortable making images in the woods, I really look forward to seeing your images when you ARE comfortable photographing the forest because this is superb.

Good to see you posting, great mood and feeling in this image. I dont feel comfortable with forests either - mainly because they are so complex that finding order to create a composition can be a huge challenge. However to me mood and feeling can sometimes be more important than composition. Tristan

The comp doesn't move me too much, Marko, but you've captured a wonderful, ethereal mood here and I really like that.

Marko,

Very mysterious rendition of the forest in this scene. Interesting.

This won't be everyone's cup of tea, but I think it just oozes emotion - wonderful image! Forests can be very tough to shoot.. but you found both an organized enough composition, and one with lots of depth.. thanks to the fog. I'd say keep shooting in the forest... many great things will come of it!
