Unfortunately I haven't been shooting much lately, mud season here in VT is not the most photo friendly time of year. I've very jealous of all the globe trotters around here that have been posting some incredible work from their recent travels.

I've been really into black and white lately and going back through some older shots playing with new bw versions. Here's one from a local stream as the new leaves start to pop out in early May. I was particularly drawn to the water (as I often am), particularly the contrasts provided by a somewhat faster shutter speed than I usually use. Thanks for looking.

This works very nicely in B&W Kurt. I like the comp very much, and the conversion is excellent.

This works very well, Kurt! It's simple, but it puts me right there. A beautiful image!

B&W does well for this exciting comp, Kurt. I can almost feel my feet getting cold. That's my kind of shutter speed, too -- it captures the essence of the water instead of killing it.

Works well in B&W, though there is a complexity here that's a bit hard to sort out. The tree detail in the upper right seems quite interesting even though it's only a small part of the frame.

I agree with all, B&W works extremely well with this scene!. Very nicely composed, I especially like the curving nature of the flow in the scene, great shot/conversion!.

Great tones you got going here Kurt. Just what's needed for a successful B&W.
