Barn on a Gloomy Day

While I was on my way to shoot some waterfall images this past weekend, I recalled this beautiful old barn along the route. The weather was overcast and drizzly, which I think helped add to the mood. Just pulled over and used my trusty H2 instead of the D-60 I had packed away. Oh, the two black dots above the left side of the barn are birds. ISO-200, 1/250th sec. at f-4.0, minimal color/contrast enh. Thanks for any C&C!! Larger posted, and I did do a B&W conversion.

Hey, what a great looking barn in a nice and moody context. The only nit is that the roof line merges with the tree line... And too bad for the birds, but since they look like specks of dirt to the viewer, I'd probably clone them out. Overall there is more goodness in the photo than nits!

Hi Catherine, thank you, I love this barn and the detail that has come thru, especially in the larger version. Will probably try shooting again as I go by it often, re: tree line. The birds do look like specks, this was the clearest and best comp out of the 5 i shot--agree on removing. Thanks again!
