Sunrise Reflections

I took this photo on a golf course pond in Illinois. I noticed the clear reflection on the water and just as I got in position a pair of geese flew overhead. You can see the shoreline at the top of the photo. This picture was not cropped and only slightly altered. Please provide feedback to help improve my skills.

Thanks

Hi, Richard. The light in the image is very good with the glow and the gradient of color through the trees and into the sky. Getting the birds in there is a nice touch. For improvement: Try to make sure your horizon line is straight. Give more of a reference for where the reflection comes from; i.e., even a little bit of the trees on the shoreline, right side up, would help. And lastly, the image is very soft. Your shutter speed is likely not fast enough to freeze the birds in flight, so the viewer might expect softness or blur there. But the rest of the image is soft also. If you are shooting handheld work on your steadying techniques or use a tripod. Or perhaps the light was too low for your camera to capture focus. Keep shooting every day if you can. Shoot LOTS, and practice, practice practice! And keep posting!
