Sonoma Waters

This was a few years back down on the Sonoma Coastline in California. Somewhere Near Bodega Bay actually. I went back last summer when things were more calm. This image was in january when the tides were different and conditions more rough which I think lent to some more moody images. Any comments or ideas are welcomed.

Really nice b&w coastal image. The drama in the waves gives a powerful effect.

I'm pretty sure I recognize these sea stacks as Furlong Gulch. But the foreground rocks are kind of throwing me off. I have been there a couple of times last year, and there were not nearly so many foreground rocks so near the beach. It is probably your angle of view, but maybe something to do with the tide? I really like this beach, and you have captured a nice image with a lot of drama, and action.

Very dramatic. It makes the waves look harsh and forboding....wild. Nicely done.

Nice use of B&W. It really emphasizes the textures and rough seas.

What a rugged looking piece of coast! I love the black rocks contrasted with the frozen wave splashes. Nicely done.

I love the rocky stacks scattered up the coast, and the drama of the turbulent sea around them. The wave action is very well composed and captured with lots of drama.

Definitely Furlong Gulch just on the other side (south) of Shell Beach. As Chris mentioned the rocks are more visible than usual and this indicates to me a low tide at Furlong. This is one of my favorite stretches of the Sonoma coast and you captured it well. It's great to see shots from my "backyard".
