European Robin

It’s been 3 months since I have been able to participate in the forum due to sudden ill-health (I suffered a stroke completely out of the blue) and I am starting to feel a good bit better. I haven’t ventured much further than the garden so far, but there are still good subjects there! Robins seem to love the snow and I love the way this one looked surprised when the snow flake landed on his head! There was snow on the ground, which reflected light onto the bird.

26 commentsWelcome back, I had wondered why you had not been posting. I am very glad you are feeling a good bit better. You have been missed.
This image has me chuckling because of the snowflake on the robin's head. Fine techs as always.
There is still snow on the ground here this morning, I thought spring was on the way!
I'm glad you're feeling much better and I hope your health continues to improve daily!
This is a great shot. Excellent comp. and colors. And lovely details. Well done.(As is your usual)

I am so happy to hear that you are getting better. You posts are always superb. The Robin photo works even without the crowning crystal but it does of course top it off.
All the best!

welcome back!! I'm so glad you feel better.
I love these cute small birds and you captured him so well, as usual. The snowflake is a bonus.
The garden can be a source of wonderful subjects so you will have many opportunities to use your "heavy artillery".
I hope you are able to make a full recovery and I look forward to many more images posted here.
The robin , twisty perch and snow flake on the head are great
Wish you a speedy recovery!!
Love the shot and the snow-flake on the head is classic! So glad to see you back
Sincerely hope you regain your strength and health and can address whatever factors lead to the unfortunate event. We need you here!!!
cheers
Rob
Good to know you are feeling better and hope you recover fully.
This is a fine image, and quite different from the usual things we see posted. The dark background works well to set off the robin. I like the falling snow. I really like the twists of the perch.
