Whiteoak Cascades

April 2009, Shenandoah National Park, Virginia.
D300, 12-24mm, polarizer.

Ahh, I can't wait to start my spring shooting in just another week or so! The 95 degree heat wasn't so nice yesterday, but it seems like the warm weather is really speeding up the leafing process. Now, if only showers would show up in the forecast!

Thanks for looking and commenting.

Well composed; I like the isolated cascade. Great bright green spring leaves.

Nice. I really like the way you've framed and isolated the key elements.

I like the radial comp, and the greens in back are terrific! The brightest highlites are maybe a hair too hot for me--but close enough! Nice shot. If you get a chance, check out my response to your comment.

Man, I love those greens. 95 degrees? It was 15 here last night. I'll be happy to split the difference
Beautiful and powerful composition.

The in-your-face rapids are nicely balanced with the rocks and that beautiful emerald green foliage.
In other words, an outstanding composition!

You can really feel the presence of the water Alex. Great job with the execution.

Nice comp Alex and those greens do look nice. I also like the way you have handled the water. Slow enough to show some motion without losing the fact that it is water flowing over a falls. Nice.

Beautiful scene, and comp. Aside from a few minor hot spots in the whites, I'd say this was perfect!
