I found and photographed this Gyrfalcon in late October at Jones Beach State Park on just my second outing with my new camera body and lens/TC combo. The lens and TC were bought from a fellow NPNer after they had posted it for sale in the forums - this shot would not have been happened without it!

This photo was selected as a weekly pick in the Avian gallery which is a huge honor another shot from that morning appeared on the cover of ABA's "winging it".

Good to see this great image again - it's a good one for the "!0 yrs of NPN Gallery".
It caused me to look back at your gallery again too - what an amazing variety of excellent shots you've ncluded there! !

Not a particularly pretty sight, but it remains a photo full of interest that is very well rendered. One of the bird, at least, is beautiful.

Pretty darn amazing!! The OOF BG and dark sky add a lot to this as well. Easy to see why this won the weekly pick.
