This is also Yosemite Falls in peak snow melt flow from last May. Only during the spring can this scene be witnessed while areas of Cook Meadow have pools. I posted this a while back and there was a distinct difference between the upper and lower part of the frame with color/temp. It was mostly due to the clarity of the water letting the dark muddy bottom of the pool show through the reflection. It was natural so I chose to leave it alone. It wa suggested to try and balance that out, so here's an attempt. I hope you enjoy it, and thank you for your thoughts.

Thanks,

Gorgeous, stunning reflection! Perhaps a slight halo over the mountain, but I am also seeing it in the reflection, so it could be a natural phenomenon. Regardless, this is immensely beautiful. :toast:

Very nice shot, Chris. This location is iconic for a reason. I like the composition in this one--the 50/50 split works effectively here. I also notice the halo surrounding the mountain as well as the reflection. For my tastes, I would like to see more contrast or tonal range in the upper half of the photo. It feels a little flat. Beautiful shot nonetheless.

I love this Chris! This is one of those images image you could invert and play games with people's minds. The clarity of the reflection is nothing less than spectacular!

Another beauty Chris - your last few images have been exceptionally nice (not to say your previous were not nice, of course!) The large version really shows this off well.

Great comp Chris, every element in their right place, nice reflection and very good GND use, the only nit is the dark pine tree on the left due to the filter.

best regards

That is fantastic work on the comp. Great symmetry. And the sharpness is great as well, except there seems to be a spot of softness along the top right. Just a stunning shot.

The symmetry in this shot is impressive - so effective! I also like the clarity - beautiful spring conditions! There is that slight halo that Ben mentions which I noticed too. You did not mention blending so I think it could be a sharpening or jpg artifact. But in fact it does not matter. Beautiful work Chris!

Chris,

I clearly remember this one and you did a fantastic job with the processing. This is beautiful and once again, you've taken a classic Yosemite Icon and created an image that somehow makes this a unique capture.

Color and light balance top/bottom is excellent now.

Next time we hit the valley, I'm following YOU around!

Gorgeous work Chris, comp, color, detail, everything comes together beautifully. As for your question, my area was originally settled by the Dutch, I be-leave kill is a Dutch word meaning Stream.
