Wow, this just kills me Charlie. Such a beautiful bird and well photographed. Great pose and suitable perch and of course lovely background. How did you get this close Charlie, is this at a feeder?

Hi Gary,
Thanks for the kind words. They don't come to the feeder, but they will come to my fountain to drink. It also seems that they like the grain from a certain tall grass that grows in my yard. The grass is probably 3-4 feet tall. I don't mow until mid summer or until the grass police threaten to give me a ticket... whichever comes first. I have a perch set up near the fountain and shoot the birds from about 15 feet away out of my kitchen window when they come in to drink. I counted 6 of them here the other day.
