Been shooting yellow potted tulip this week. Was a bit cloudy, but I liked the muted colors that came as a result from the diffused light. Another indoor shot. Some these were fairly long exposures. I think this was 2.5 sec at f22
Canon 50D
Canon 75-300mm
500D diopter

Kathy, I like the three leaf tips. They look like pinchers ready to nip at the bud. I think I might have been nipping at something too. Sweet capture. Yeah, I know about those long exposures. Do you lock up your mirror? I have seen a marked improvement in sharpness now that I engage mirror lock-up.

Nice lines in the bloom and nice color Kathy. Nice use of light too. The two tips of greenery at the bottom bother me just a bit, but I don't know that you could have done much different.

Beautiful shot Kathy. I like the light but also the composition . The leaves remind me of a hand cupping the blooms. A very fine image for my tastes.

Kathy, I now have the camera function set to mirror lock-up. So I have to remember to disable it when I don't need it. But that is using my 5DMII which is my first choice for working with. I do have a 50D, and can well relate to the noise issue at higher ISO's which is why I try and capture at as low an ISO as possible. My 5DMII is set at ISO 50. On the 50D the mirror lock-up is under Custom Function (C.Fn) III:Autofocus/Drive. Just FYI. I also use the remote release and the first click locks up the mirror, and the second click activates the shutter. If there is a long pause after the mirror is locked up (such as when you activate mirror lock-up and then you wait patiently for the breeze to die down  ), it will release itself automatically.
