Phillip, this is wonderful. I love the comp, the whites do look a little bright on my monitor. Well done!

Fabulous comp. Nice and sharp and just the right DOF with good separation from BG. The white looks okay on my calibrated monitor.

Gorgeous shot Philip. The only thing I might be tempted to do is darken the white vertical stripe on the viewers right. Actually I might darken that entire area a touch with a gradient but then I always end up darkening my bgs. (smile)

Bloodroot flowers are always so pristine and white. You've done a wonderful job of showing that and the brilliant yellow stamens. That sort of suggests to me that moving even close to the subject might make this better. You always have time with a subject like this to shoot a couple of different compositions. Sure, shoot this portrait, but then move the camera even closer and shoot just the center of the flower with enough of the white petals to establish what it is, but make the yellow and white the entire frame....just an idea.

I love the crisp, sharp details, especially in the leaves. I like the placement of the leaves in the frame. Well done.
