This was taken between some buildings near a farmer's cow pasture, just off the Mississippi in MN. I'd really like to get closer, but he says they'll take off (feeding the cows is OK though!). I'm not too wild about putting a blind in a cow pasture!

The dead tree is right next to the nest. A juvenile flew over, causing the female get off the nest and give (short) chase. She then landed on the dead tree and stretched a bit before feeding the eaglet (looked like some sort of larger rodent). Only saw the male for a few minutes over a 3 hour session.

Some other photos from this pair:

I like the pose and the detail in the feathers looks good. There is a halo around the bird and the background is an odd color purple. These are common artificats from incorrect exposure adjustments and selective sharpening. Carefully re-processing the original RAW should resolve the problem.

I appreciate the feedback - thanks. Not sure about the sky color, as this was taken about an hour after sunrise. The sun was hidden in a cloudbank for the first 1/2 hour (after sunrise), with lots of mist off the Mississippi in the area.
