Spring in the Desert

I took this picture because I liked all the wonderful color of the desert. I had my camera on aperture priority, and I forgot to change the aperture from F5.6 to something more like F16, but I still like the photo.

Nikon D90
F5.6
1/800
ISO200
No tripod

The colors still come through in the 5.6 version. I like how the rather blank sky is filled ocotillo branches.

I can definitely see why the colours of the desert drew you in. Tis a shame about the aperture and blurred foreground, but cest la vie.

Great array of blooms and colors here, and I like the arrangement of the ocotillos around the distant hill. If it's close enough to your home, I'd say it's worth a couple of return visits to find it in softer/warmer light.

If my eye is not deceiving me I see a problem that plagues me, too. Could be my monitor, too.
That of blue (or red) fringing against the sky with limbs and twigs.
Yours could be natural but mine, I fear, are real. In NX2 the "aberation" adjustment does not do much.

Wow! That is the craziest ocotillo bloom I've ever seen! Beautiful colors!
