I brought these in from my back yard. Not sure what variety of daffodil this is, bur definitely different from the others. Had a great shooting session with these on Friday.

What a beautiful specimen Kathy. Never have seen these so thanks for posting. The image is outstanding. My only suggestion would be to clone out the partial flower on the top left. Probably not too easily done. :toast:

Beautiful lighting and great DOF on these beauties. I also like the diagonal placement of the stem to the URC. Nice work!

Kathy, are these the daffodils you mentioned the other day before we went to the meeting? Very nice capture! A larger view would have been nice to see this capture in greater detail. IMHO, very well captured, exposure wise, as the highlight detail has texture and depth, no blown out spots with good shadows that give depth and dimension to your subject. Compositionally, this might be stronger as a portrait of the two subjects and the solitary support blossom, but not sure that would be possible without some surgery beforehand.

This image looks like it might have had fun with a follow-up capture with one of your well placed water drops!

Ahh, I see Patricia commented on the composition too. Would have been easir to do the surgery pre-capture, but it can be done post, just a lot more time consuming, but that is the beauty of using a solid black bg. :toast: The diagonal of the primary subject is strong. Sweet! Uhh, did you use a reflector to fill in?

Very good capture of a variety of daffodil I've not seen before. Especially the two main flowers show off the subject the best with nice detail in the whites and the deep yellow "stars."

You did a great job in making the white pedals stand out.

Thanks, everyone, for your comments. Will have to play around with these and see about cloning out the upper left flower. Steven, these are the daffodils I was telling you about. Pretty unusual, but fun to photograph. If I remember right, I did use the gold reflector for this. I did some with and some without, but I find the reflectors really add a lot. I just can't bring myself to use flash with any of these. Usually, I just need a tad bit more light on the side that is away from the window, and I'm not that experienced with flash. I did do some close ups with water drops . Will have to post one later

Absolutely gorgeous detail, Kathy, and the exposure is right on.

I too would suggest disappearing the petals in the upper left.

Lovely, lovely job.

Wonderful detail in the whites and great choice of the diagonal placement of the stem, Kathy. Other than the already mentioned flower in the ULC I would not change a thing. Great use of the reflector BTW.
