I couldn't believe this little ground squirrel was trying to climb this palo verde tree in our backyard.

Neat photo, I have seen ground squirrels and chipmunks climbing trees on several occassions.

After finding the one ground squirrel in the tree, all the knots and branch stubs begin to strongly resemble ground squirrels. Cute capture!

This is quite cool Laura, not only the fact that you find a ground squirrel in a tree, but also the way it is almost lost in between those branches. I do wish you had achieved a bit more BG separation here. A combination of a longer focal length with a lower aperture or a closer position with a short focal length and a lower aperture would have achieved this. However, I do realize that you might have been limited with your options here.
