You found a terrific subject. Depth of field is very well handled! Here is an instance where just a touch of fill flash or some reflected light into the space under the shell would make a nice improvement. If this is raw I suspect you can add some selective brightening and it will make a significant difference. I like the claws, the open pink mouth, and the face-on look. The low perspective is very good. I am surprised at how unobtrusive the gravel road appears, almost as if it is natural hard pan. Thanks for sharing.

Adding a post script: I notice that you have been a member for just a few months and have posted several images. But you seem to be a bit shy about commenting on the images of others. I wish to encourage you to take a moment and share your reactions, it is what makes this a learning environment for all of us. It can be as simple as your emotional response, noting what you like and offering some tidbit that might improve the photo. I am looking forward to learning from how YOU see image captures!

Love that pose Janet, as if he is about to jump on you! Really cool. I do echo the comments about brightening the subject selectively a bit.
