This splendid Leopard cub was extremely curious about the strange contraption recording its images.
Thanks for taking a look. C&C would be much appreciated.

What a good looking leopard Chetan - his intense eyes really set the tone for this shot. the composition is fine, though I think you may have another comp with a crop to the bottom of the main limb that would cut the tail and foot off. Often I fine a bright bg distracting, but here I find it complimenting the shot well. Well done.

Images captured against a forest canopy and bright sky are tricky. I agree that this example of the young leopard overcomes the problems and is quite successful. The spotted cub stands out well on the background of dappled green and light. The limbs of the tree and the hanging tail and leg all lend to the composition and direct the viewer's attention back to the subject. I really like the fine detail of the face, the expression and the clear, highlighted eyes. Colors are bright and appear natural. Good job!

On another note I realize English may not be your first language, but I encourage you to work toward the NPN suggested guidelines of offering 5 comments for each image posted. You obviously have considerable skill, and your observations will be helpful to others. It can be a simple word of encouragement. Or you might see something that could be done differently to make a good image better! I, and I am sure others in this gallery, look forward to the insights you might share! (Again, :toast: for the leopard cub!)

Very nice Chetan; I love that curious look! I think you did extremely well here with your exposure and post processing to handle that difficult lighting situation. :toast:

Hi Chetan,

I think you made the most of a difficult photographic situation here. The bright background does distract somewhat, but you've balanced the exposure very well and still produced quite an impactful image. I agree with your choice of going vertical here and I quite like how the leg and tail are hanging down. And those eyes are very compelling.

Cheers...thanks for sharing this...

Beautiful image, Chetan, with the cub (?) looking directly at you. Where was this shot? And 1/50s is asking for trouble, usually, because these fellows can move quickly, and you will then end up with a blurred image. You could have gone for a higher ISO which would have given you more shutter speed to play with. I know all these things are thought out better sitting at a desk in an airconditioned room, than in the field.

Thanks folks.

Ajit, this was at the Bandipur National Park, fairly close to Yere-katte. I did bump up the ISO a few frames after this shot to get the shutter speed up, but was happier with the noise levels from this one.
