One from the archives- 2007! This is Mediterranean Tree Mallow, one of my neighbors favorite flowers. I was practicing cramming when the bee just popped right in and got to work.

D200, 70-200/2.8 @ 170 mm, tripod; f 3.2, 1/1600, ISO 400, spot meter.

Local areas of the images are "patched" (using patch tool in P'shop) with leaf patterns from other parts of the image for the sake of composition. The furled flower in the ulc was darkened slightly.

Thanks for looking in. As always, comments and critique much appreciated.

The background is nicely blurred, and it compliments your main subject the mallow and the "bumbler" (my pet name for bumble bees) so a little creative mainpulation of the background isn't an issue for me. Great sharpness on the bumbler and flower. All in all a fine image. Preparation meets opportunity.

Excellent shot Catherine, with the cramming and the party crasher this all comes together VERY well. I like it a lot.

Lovely "cramming" of OOF colors here. I like the spread stance of the bee

Catherine, Very nice and when I opened the photo, I was looking forward to seeing lensbaby in the description  - your post treatment in Photoshop really gives this photo some artistic flavour as well.
