Back to wildflowers in the Hill Country. I liked the exclusivity of the bluebonnets with the yuccas in this scene. All comments welcome.>=))>

Great capture Bill! Nice patterns! However....colors look a bit weak, at least on my monitor.

I like the bluebonnets as well so vibrant. Good job at placing the yuccas on a third balancing the shot out.
Great job Bill

What a beauty Bill. The placement of the Yucca plant really sets this apart. Nice job.

This is fantastic, Bill! One of these days I'll have to see the bloom in the TX hills for myself.

Just beautiful. Great details and amazing clarity. Did you use some fill in flash here?

I knew it was you when I saw the thumbnail. Lovin' your series Bill. BTW - I spent a whole lot a time in Houston in the early - mid 70's with the first company I worked for (Halcon R&D / Oxirane - chemical engineering though I am a chemist)...... but this does look like a whole nuther country to me from those days..... Beautiful work! I looked on Google maps and know this was taken a little further north. I hated those days when I had to travel back and forth to the Houston area but maybe I should have had more sense to visit beautiful areas like this on my free time. ...and I don't mean that in a bad sense. Houston back then was too much like the area I grew up in, in NJ and just did not want to be in either. Hind sight is 20/20. Hope ya get what I mean. If I had to do it all over again, I would visit wonderful places like this. Your pics make me realize the opportunities I missed back then.

Did you use some fill in flash here?
Paolo: No flash here. I just waited around until a cloud showed up.

Eva: Houston is so big and so sprawled out that its hard to like. The Hill Country OTOH is wonderful, especially in flower years like this. I usually hit some spots in Washington and Austin counties which are much closer but the terrain is not as interesting and when the Hill Country is blooming it is the place to be. I have to leave the house about 3:30 in the morning to get out there at sunrise but its spectacular once you get there.

Great composition Bill. Love the yucca placement. The only thing that bothers me just a very little bit is the dark folage in the upper edge. But having said that, still a great shot.

:toast: :toast:

I lived in the Dallas area for a few years, and loved the fields of bluebonnets and indian paintbrush.

Beautiful array of bluebonnets, Bill. The spiny yucca placed in the composition is a great contrast to the gorgeous flowers. Really nice.

The comp is fantastic, absolutely perfect, great colors too. There's something about the contrast i find puzzling, maybe its the bright highlites tho im not sure, gives it a kind of 2D look. It gives it a graphical look that is actually kind of appealing, but a bit odd. Anyhow, it only seems to be bugging me so im probably out to lunch

If this had only the flowers it would be very nice but with the yucca tossed in for some difference and placed well like it is, this is a super image Bill. I like this a lot.

Stellar Bill. The richness of the flowers gets just the right amount of contrast from the yucca.

Another fabulous bluebonnet covered landscape, Bill. Love this comp and the contrast between the spiky looking yucca and the rest. Beautiful series, this. Keep 'em coming.
