Only a few hours left to include you NPN favorites!

Not only have I benefited technically and seen my photography and post-processing improve greatly over recent years, there is yet another side to NPN that we all know and appreciate. And that is the family or community of photographers that is fostered here; the friends that I've met mean just as much to me as does all the learning.

Too many people to list as friends that I've made as a result of being associated with NPN, plus I'd forget a name and would never live down the ridicule... :-)

Nearly all the images I've posted on NPN in the last 3+ years have been made with some of those friends. And this is just one of them - and it happens to be a favorite of mine. And so I post as a tribute to the fine folks who make up the membership of NPN.

Lon

I do love when you contribute Lon and this is one of my favorites of yours as well. I do love the b+w rendition also. A beautiful marriage of elements and showcasing the simple yet powerful image you have presented to us.
Wonderful shot

This is wonderful on a number of levels not the least of which is the story of nature's constant struggle for life. I also enjoy the warm and cool tones found in the flowing water, very nice Lon.

Lovely Lon. I somehow missed this earlier, but it's quite striking, and a great candidate to the 10 year gallery.

Very nice Lon, I think you've handled very well what looks to be a very tricky exposure. The patches of sunlight are a very nice touch.

Gary.

I too have found that NPN has facilitated some wonderful friendships with people I may never have found without NPN. This is a wonderful image and epitomizes the concept of individual light that makes this places such an inspiration.

I love how the small and apparently fragile tree is untouched by the turmoil of the water around it. An image that tells a story is always the best IMO.
