One of the many good things about NPN is that there is room here for all kinds of nature photography. This is not a landscape, it's a bit wider than a macro, and it's not a flower, but it would have been welcomed in Earth Sea and Sky, Macro, or Flora (where I posted it last fall). The positive and helpful attitude of the members makes the critiques on this Web site all the more valuable.

The warm acceptance of "backyard" nature as well as exotic sights from the far reaches of the Earth makes NPN a wonderful forum for subjects like this red maple leaf in a little brook near my home. May the Nature Photographers Network continue to encourage photographers to foster appreciation of the wonders of Nature, near and far, great and small, for many years to come.

Well said Wayne. I like this all too often overlooked intimate scene. Well seen and done.

I really love the rippled light on the water and how it put shadows on the leave below. Such a simple thing to make such a gorgeous image.
